If you want to go down deep you do not need to travel far; indeed, you don't have to leave your most immediate and familiar surroundings.”

Victor Pasmore - Snow storm - blurred out at the edges, beautiful.
Pierre Soulages - Black with white strips - beautiful contrast.
Ben Nicholson - "purity and order".
"natural light and formal simplicity".
Simplicity is key when it comes to form,
Highlighting the unique beauty and not just the norm,
Light is also important and enhances the piece,
I like to read into things deeply and how it relates to me.
Ben Nicholson's was about peace and not war,
To show what can happen when we connect and don't ignore.
Accurate and precise, each line was very clear,
To show it's boundaries well and so to create no fear.
This made me question how I respond to people
What draws me alongside them and what may make people go to war?
Why do some characters repel,
What is connection and how can I tell?
Lucy, my friend, wasnt amazed by the piece,
But when I explained my interest, she thought it was neat!
She started to notice the beauty, and I asked what she thought,
She said: 'beauty is who someone is' (not about being size nought)!
"Confidence brings beauty", not the other way around,
It's already inside us, THAT is where it's found.
Not elsewhere or in someone other than you,
You hold unique beauty and when you believe it it shines through.
Purity: what is it?
Penzance:
Gareth Edwards - "Stupid beauty".
Sophia Starland - Blue / red overlap. Fabrics. Bright colour, texture, shine, crumples, imperfections.
Sandra Blow - colourful and simple "SWIMMER".
Vibrant and done by desire.
Brought out my creativity - I did a dance in front of it!
"You just made my day" - Ed.
"Creativity sparks new creativity" - creates a ripple effect.
Jessica Wilmot.
Picked up a Dandelion on the way back, an alive and a dead one.
Really powerful seeing that in death there is life.
In dreaming and believing, new life is birthed.
Meghan and I danced on the walls all the way back to the buses bringing smiles to strangers faces. Sunshine on a cloudy day!
Henry: What is beauty to you?
"Happiness. Something that draws your attention to it"
