Things to look for and think about:
Formal (narrative, how compositions work) and
Contextual (context, why things are as they are)
analysis.
Netherlandish "proverbs" -- Pieter Bruegel.
Caravaggio, "love conquers all" 1602.
-- duality, eroticism. religion. exposed - dark, dramatic.
Rubens -- captivity.
Theodore - "beauty and violence, vulnerablity.
Dore, Andromeda 1869 - waves crashing (where's persios?) - fear, covering.
How narrative exists?
Vermeer --> (woman with pearl necklace 1664)
Watteau --> (The dance 1716) - more playful. music, woman dancing, nature, beauty, child like.
IMPOSSIBLE DRAWING...

I prayed I'd be able to do it and do it well!
By the end I had done a lot and totally got the hang out it :)

I was given strength when I felt weak,
As I realised it was something I needed to seek.
The drawing expanded despite impossibilities,
The teacher would check it and seemed to be pleased!
I enjoyed the process and the new way of seeing.
Despite it being a slog it was also quite freeing.
